Kamal Haasan’s historical extravaganza ‘Marma Yogi’ has been shelved due to fiscal constraints. This is not the first time as earlier ‘Marudhanayagam’ of Kamal’s was curbed to the same fate. The movie has a cast coup including Shreya, Trisha, Hema Malini and also Victory Venkatesh. Pyramid Saimira and Rajkamal Films were to produce this venture jointly. Kamal was to enact and direct the movie himself.
Grapevine is Pyramid Saimira has been reportedly backed off from this mega budgeted project as they incurred a heavy loss from ‘Kathanayakudu’. They are close-minded to step into one more experimental film. Actress Trisha has now given her dates to the Selvaraghavan’s and Gautam Menon’s movies. Shriya is also out and she committed herself with Vishal’s home production. Even Kamal Haasan was seen with a trimmed beard that he had grown earlier for this movie.
Reports are clear ‘Marmayogi’ is out of the box for now. Yet, sources close to the actor denies such news and says that the movie has been temporarily postponed and not completely shelved.
‘Thalaivan Irukiran’ is the new movie that is being said to be Kamal’s next. The actor is going to enact and direct this movie. The star cast is on the go and as of now Venkatesh, Rishi Kapoor and Mohan Lal is being considered. Gemini Film Circuit is to produce and Sun Networks is in a working agreement with this movie. AR Rahman will compose music and the movie is pipelined to go to floors from January 2009.
An official report will be released by Gemini Film Circuit once the cast and fiscal terms are finalized.

I would never default on my work: Sushmita Sen
Mumbai, Nov 13 (IANS) Model-turned-actress Sushmita Sen seems to be courting rumours - first, she was dealing with false reports on her marriage and now about missing a shoot for a shampoo ad.
"What do I do with false stories about me? Let them spoil my day? No way! I leave the rumour mongers to deal with their own conscience. That's how well the media knows me," Sushmita told IANS.
Sushmita says she no longer endorses the product whose ad shoot she's supposed to have ditched.
"I'd never default on my work. And party while work waited?...This is toooooo outrageous to be funny. I had no contractual obligation. My contract with the product ended in July. In fact, the last shoot for the product took place in July.
"The best part is I don't endorse that product any longer. My deal with them ended long back. So which Sushmita Sen were they supposed to be waiting for? But then this is small compared with marriage plans that are made for me every month."
"I couldn't allow my life to be spoilt by such absurd reports. First, they say I couldn't attend the shoot for the ad because I was partying the previous night. Then they say the people who were supposed to shoot the ad kept trying to reach me. Anyone who knows me would know I never switch off my cell. And why would they try to get in touch with me? Wouldn't getting to me via my manager be much easier?
The actress is currently busy with her home production "Rani Laxmibai" in which she will play the title role.

Anil Kapoor plays autistic role in 'Yuvvraaj'
Mumbai, Nov 13 (IANS) After the success of "Taare Zameen Par", now Anil Kapoor will be seen as an autistic in his forthcoming movie "Yuvvraaj".
"Anil plays elder brother to Salman and Zayed Khan. Subhash Ghai had been meaning to incorporate a physically-psychologically challenged character into his script for a long time. It was Anil who told Subhashji the story idea for 'Yuvvraaj'," a source told IANS.
If sources are to be believed Anil's reference point in "Yuvvraaj" is Tom Hanks in "Forrest Gump".
This isn't the first time that Anil is playing an autistic role. In K. Vishwanath's "Eeshwar" too he was cast as a slow, saintly man who wins over a village widow. Anil has self-admittedly copied Raj Kapoor in "Eeshwar".
Shah Rukh Khan too plays an isolated Muslim suffering from an autistic disorder in Karan Johar's "My Name Is Khan".
