The maiden venture of director Hari Eleti which is produced by Kishore Ganji and Raghu on the Inno Vision Cinema banner, received a clean censorship certification of 'U', without any cut.

The running time of the movie is two hours and fifteen minutes. The release of the movie is scheduled across the world, including USA, on 5th September with 35 prints.

Nikhil who has become famous with the movie 'Happy Days' is the Hero and Megha Burman (Bru Coffee Ad appearance) as a debut is paired with him for the movie.

Music is composed by Vinu Thomas is well received. A graduate from Pune Film Institute is taking over her first assignment as cinematographer. Editing is taken care of Marthand K Venkatesh for the movie.

Nandamuri Balakrishna's new flick produced by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad under the banner of Vaishnavi Cinema is to be launched from 9th October which falls on Vijayadasami. The producer has already ventured with Aditya 369, Vamsanikkokkade, and Balevadivi Basu with Balakrishna.

Director is a debutant Mahadev ex assistant of S S Rajamouli, dialogues written by Ratnam, Rama Rajamouli is the costume designer and music composed by Mani Sharma, Art direction is by Anandsai and stunts by Ram 'Lakshman.

Priyamani for the first time paired with Balayya and she has acted in Pellaina Kothalo, Yamadonga and Hare Ram before joining with Balakrishna.

The first schedule will commence on the inaugural day and will continue till the October end and after that each schedule will last for 15 days per month until the completion.

Other casts of the film includes with Chandramohan, Brahmanandam, Pradeep Rawat, Tannikella Bharani, Ahuti Prasad, Dharmavarapu and Balayya. The director is thankful to the actor for providing an opportunity to work with him.

Fans thronged at since the morning to celebrate Nag Birth Day and few Tollywood members too spotted at the venue. Actor was presented with bouquets and later cut a cake.

During a celebration organized by All India Nagarjuna's Fans Association with the presence of the legend ANR in his house, a physically challenged person was donated of Rs 20,000/- by Nagaraju President of Balapur Nagarjuna Fans Association.

Later he was felicitated with 'Gajamala' and silk attire from few other fans at Annapoorna Studios.

Speaking on the event Nag said that this B'Day is some what special for him because his son Chaitanya is being introduced in to the filmdom. He called for departing of Yuva Samrat and wished to attribute with Yuva for his son and just Samrat for himself. He also expressed hope that Chaitanya would receive a grand welcome by the fans. Nag also thanked fans for their large presence and expected a similar support for his on Nag Chaitanya.

The party launch on 26th at Tirupati took place in an unprecedented way and has been a very unforgettable event.

The peoples support was immense one. They all have arrived there with their own expenses, and have also experienced difficulties in reaching and waiting at the place. Their gesture has really given me a lot of strength; I am very happy to receive such a huge support. I know that they all have come with immense faith and with dreams of a prosperous future. I promise them that the dreams will all be realized, and I also extend whole hearted thanks to all.

The volunteers, police and government officials at the place have contributed very much to the security and other requirements with their services, to the huge gathering. Thanks to every one of them for their quick responses in offering service and organizing the masses.

I shall never forget the huge mass which congregated for the meeting; the very thought of it thrills me. I feel fortunate to be supported by the people despite experiencing difficulties in attending the meet.

I know that the media had trouble in covering the event. In spite of it, all the media people courageously covered the event completely. I render a special thanks to the press and media people. I am also to ensure here after to take all the care, not to repeat such things, which will obstruct the news coverage.

Rock On!! director Farhan Akhtar and TV star Prachi Desai’s acting debut is directed by Abhishek Kapoor. Quite frankly I expected nothing from Rock On!! as the director’s last movie on boxing titled Aryan (Sohail Khan) was poor. A text message from a friend, who had been to the preview show came as a pleasant suprise. His message read “Rock on is too good. Must watch!” and fortunately thats exactly what it turned out to be.

Rock On!! is about 4 extremely talented musicians; Aditya (Farhan Akhtar), Joe (Arjun Rampal), Rob (Luke Kenny) and K.D (Purab Kohli). The four friends come together to form a band named Magik and are soon on a look out for that big break. Their dream is to make Magik the biggest band the country has ever seen, but they dont make it and due to a misunderstanding they part. A decade later, they come together and continue from where they left off… Rock On!! is about relationships, dreams, failures, fate and life.

Rock On!! has a few similarities to Farhan Akhtar’s Dil Chahta Hai. A part of the story is similar; a group of friends part ways due to a misunderstanding only to come together years later when their lives have changed. But what works for Rock On!! is its a simple story with a heart and it connects. A refreshing change from all the masala movies that have been dished out over the past few weeks.

Abhishek Kapoor after the disastrous Aryan, has surely worked hard on Rock On!! His execution of the script and attention to detail is perfect. The characters are real, you identify with them. Emotionally too the movie is strong, there are scenes that make you cry. There are a few hilarious scenes, watch the scene wherein the band group perform dandiya.

The music, so important to a movie like Rock On!! is brilliant. The songs are beautifully placed, a great example of how songs add to the overall experience of a movie. Shankar - Ehsaan - Loy, you guys rock!

Like even the best of movies, Rock On!! is not without flaws. The pace is slow and to a certain extent the second half is predicatable.

But the performances more than make up for it. Farhan Akhtar proves to be a extremely talented actor. A great debut. Ditto for Prachi Desai. It should be Arjun Rampal’s best performance ever, just cant recollect any of his other note worthy performances. He’s good thoughout, surprisingly great in those emotional scenes. Luke Kenny and Shahana Goswami are good. Purab Kohli is fine.

Overall, Rock On!! is a movie that noone should miss!

Chiranjeevi, who completed his 53 years of life, is stepping into his 54th year today. Coming to his political entry he is almost ready and well prepared to disclose his party’s name on August 26th on the occasion of Mother Teresa’s birthday.Four days before he formally launches his political party, Telugu film star and wannabe-politician Chiranjeevi on Friday celebrated his 53rd birthday quietly with his family.

After a three-decade-long film career, he proposes to launch Aug 26 his yet unnamed party at a public meeting in the temple town of Tirupati.

He announced his entry into politics on Sunday, saying he was dedicating his life to serving the people.

Not sure whether he would find time for the family later, the actor preferred to celebrate his birthday at his house in the upmarket Jubilee Hills.
He spent the day with his mother Anjana Devi, wife Surekha and other family members.

In sharp contrast, his supporters and fans celebrated the day with much fanfare.

A large number of them gathered outside his house and at the party office to greet him.

Chiru, as he is popularly known, had appealed to his fans across the state not to reach Hyderabad to greet him and instead take up social work and plant trees in their respective towns and villages.

Responding to his call, fans' associations organised meals for the poor, health check-up camps, blood donation camps and distributed fruits among patients at various hospitals besides planting trees.

The fans also cut huge cakes, took out processions and organised free screening of some films of the actor.

In Visakhapatnam, Chiranjeevi's fans cut a 53-kg cake, burst firecrackers and raised slogans hailing his entry into politics.

The celebrations in Vijayawada triggered tension when fans of popular actor Mahesh Babu took exception to the removal of his cut-out by Chiru's fans. One person was injured in the resulting clash between the two groups.

Mahesh Babu, son of veteran actor and former Congress MP G S Krishna, celebrated his birthday earlier this month amid speculations that he would campaign for the ruling Congress party in next year's elections.

Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi's fans have stepped up efforts to mobilise huge crowds for the Aug 26 meeting at Tirupati, where the actor would announce the name of his party and its agenda.

Though his fans were expecting that he would launch the party on his birthday, he preferred to do it on the birth anniversary of Mother Teresa, whom he described as his source of inspiration.

Chiru is already engaged in social service and runs a blood and eye bank here and his fans hope to see him as the next chief minister.

He has a huge fan following, comparable to thespian N T Rama Rao, who had taken the state politics by storm by floating Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in 1982. NTR had come to power within nine months of launching the party.

Born on Aug 22, 1955 in Mogalturu, a small village in the coastal district of West Godavari in the family of an excise constable, Chiru was christened Konidela Siva Shankara Varaprasad.

After graduating in commerce, he began his film career in 1978 - when he renamed himself. Chiranjeevi - and carved out a niche for himself with his image of an action hero. He acted in 147 films and churned several blockbusters including those with social message.

Chiru bagged various awards for his acting, his contribution to Telugu cinema and social service. He was also awarded Padma Bhushan in 2006.

Known to be a sensitive and kind-hearted man, Chiru Thursday admitted a physically challenged person as the first member of his party. "I will be the second member," he said.

Tamil star Vikram is not playing the male lead in Mani Ratnam's next Hindi film, but says he is excited to be a part of the movie.

Ratnam's yet-to-be titled film is reportedly an interpretation of epic 'Ramayan' and Abhishek Bachchan will be cast as Ram, while Aishwarya will play Sita.

'It is a big thing to be sharing screen-space with Abhishek and Aishwarya whom I know well. The fact that I will play the lead in the Tamil version (of the same film) has thrilled me,' Vikram said.

The National Award winning actor is currently working for Tamil-Telugu bilingual 'Kandasamy', which has actress Shreya Saran in the female lead.

Vikram was introduced to filmdom by Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited in 1990. But his career did not take off, forcing the 1966-born actor to take on dubbing assignments in Chennai till he was noticed nine years later in 'Sethu' - a film thought to be a dud, but grossed over Rs.5 million.

Vikram won the national award in 2003 for his performance in 'Pithamagan'.

The successful adaptation of hit TV series ‘Sex and the City’ on big screen has reportedly inspired Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox to turn their show ‘Friends’ into a movie.

After Friends came to an end in 2004 following a 10-year run, rumours of a reunion have repeatedly been denied by Cox, Aniston, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow. But now it appears the stars may be ready to return to cash in on the sitcom's popularity following the success of "Sex and the City", hollywood.com reports.

A source said: "Jennifer, Courteney and the rest of the cast are keen to reprise their roles, under the right circumstances. The box office success of Sex and the City has really got their wheels spinning about how a Friends film could be just as big, if done right.

"Jennifer says she and Courteney have already talked this summer about what they want out of a Friends movie."

Though numerous awards are showering on Meera Jasmine for her meticulous performances in many films last year, Malayalee film makers seems to have decided to teach her a lesson on professionalism. She had been the least punctual of all in the sets of her recent movies like'Innathe Chintha Vishayam' and 'Minnaminnikkoottam', making her co-stars like Mohanlal and veteran directors like Kamal wait for hours in order to start shooting. These incidents have irked the entire Malayalam film industry, who have reached a point of thought that working with her in future might prove to be quite risky.

Moreover her recent row with the Mollywood artists association AMMA, that concerned her dates for the movie 'Twenty: 20' is all set to come down as a big blow to her career in Malayalam films. By refusing to act in 'Twenty: 20', Meera Jasmine has ruffled many feathers and scores of people in the industry were asking for strict actions against her.

She was earlier named to take part in the shoot of Mammootty's 'Kuttyshranku' and Mohanlal's 'Swapanamalika'. But then nothing has been heard about her part in these films of late. For 'Kuttyshranku', the director has already roped in the Bengali actress Kamalee Mukherjee to replace Meera. After poor reports and reviews about clichéd acting from the lead pair in 'Minnaminnikkoottam', no new filmmakers from Malayalam has approached her with fresh projects.

But, Meera Jasmine seems to be least bothered over these new developments in Mollywood. She seems to have made up her mind to concentrate more on other languages. She have already started working for noted Kannda offbeat director M.S. Sathyu, for his new film titled 'Ijjodu', produced by Reliance Adlabs. Interestingly, the movie will have Meera Jasmine playing the role of a Devadasi.

She is now doing quite well in the Telugu film industry too, her latest being 'Gorintaku' with Rajasekar about a brother-sister bond, where she played the sister's role. She will be completing another Telugu movie where she stars with Jagapathi Babu. The movie was shot extensively in Kashmir. Meera has agreed for some more films in Telugu including the, Srikanth starrer titled 'A Aa Ee Ee'.

Meera Jasmine had a close shave at Jammu and Kashmir when the car in which she was traveling to her shooting spot was pelted with stones by an angry mob who was staging a protest over the Amarnath Shrine issue in the valley.

The actress had been to Jammu & Kashmir to shoot for a Telugu movie along with Jagapthi Babu. The crew had been on separate cars to the shooting spot on Wednesday night. Unfortunately the car in which Meera Jasmine was traveling was surrounded by a mob shouting angry slogans against the Jammu & Kashmir government and attacked it with stones.

Meera cried for help and police personnel rushed to the spot and rescued her. They then helped her get back to the hotel. The shooting, as a result was halted and the whole crew had to return back to Hyderabad.

Thammudu, another blockbuster followed, is a remake of Jo Jeetha Wohi Sikkandar with a difference that Pawan Kalyan is a kickbocker. Badri, directed by Poori Jagannath starring Pawan Kalyan, Amisha and Renu Desai is carried to a success range solely by Pawan Kalyan.

Annavaram was released on December 29, 2006 by getting a good response and proved to be a big hit at box office.On Day 1, the film grossed 3.75 crores.The film grossed a share of 12.44 crores In its first week , 18 crores second week.After three weeks, the film grossed a share of 27 crores,which is making it the highest grossing film in Kalyan's career.
