Bollywood's festive season has begun. The last few Fridays have seen multiple releases.
This week end rocked, quite literally. Farhan Akhtar's debut Rock On has struck the right chord with the audiences. This film wasn't given a nationwide release but only opened in multiplexes in select centres. The film opened to full houses at most places through the weekend and clocked above 85% occupancy.
Chamku, another new release failed to shine inspite of Priyanka Chopra's star presence and critically acclaimed Director Kabeer Kaushik at the helm.
The film showed only 15-20% occupancy.
The 'K' factor didn't seem to work for Ekta Kapoor this time as comedy film KKompany, also opened poorly at 15-20%. Ramu's horror saga continue and had a good week netting over Rs 6.5 crores. Mumbai Meri Jaan netted a little over Rs 2 crores doing well only in few cities. The Rahul Bose Malaika Sherawat combination didn't click this time and Maan Gaye Mughal E Azam turned out to be a flop.
